Hey everyone! I wanted to let y’all know that I’ll be posting a lot less the next few days or even weeks! 😅
I’ll still be reading your posts and stuff, but I wanted to give you guys a heads-up. The only reason why I’ll be posting less is because school’s started and everyone’s still wrapping their heads around everything, so I probably won’t have much time to post! 😬
Yallo, yallo! Welcome or welcome back to Simply Selina!
Sorry for not posting in around a week! School’s starting, and it’s been a bit of a “AHHH I NEEDA GET READY FOR SCHOOOOL” kinda situation lately. 😛
Thankfully, I’ve dug out the time to write another Recreating book characters post! Hooray! *overly-enthusiastic clapping*
Um, what was I saying?? OH RIGHT! Heh, sorry. I’ll be showing y’all some more book characters I recreated using this Picrew (by @ummmmandy)! This time they’re more Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus characters by the author Rick Riordan. None of the characters belong to me.
Now, wiThOuT fUrThEr aDo… let’s get on with the post!
This is Artemis, the goddess of the hunt and the moon! In the book, she’s described with auburn hair (I’m pretty sure?) and very beautiful. So this was how it turned out! I really liked the moon and star earrings I added hehehehe 😃
Thalia, daughter of Zeus! She’s deepicted to have “spiky black hair” and even though the hair of this Thalia isn’t exactly spiky, I think it’s close enough!
Calypso!! In fanart I usually see her hair in a braid, and since the Picrew itself didn’t have a braid option, I just went with these pigtail-braid-thingymabobs.
And last but not least, Annabeth, daughter of Athena! One of the first people to volunteer to go on Percy’s first-ever quests with him! (percabeeeeth)
Well? What did you think of these recreated book characters? Have you read any books by Rick Riordan? Let’s chat in the comments!
I wanted to let y’all know that I created another blog buttons page! If you’d like to swap buttons with me, tell me in the comments, or comment on the page once it’s up! 😄
What is a blog button?
Every blog has its own blog button. It’s the icon that shows up on the upper-left side of your screen when you open up ‘My Sites’! I screenshotted it below:
What is a blog button page for?
Welp, I’m pretty sure you swap blog buttons with blogs you enjoy reading, and link their blog to the button. They’ll put your blog button up on their blog, and you put theirs up on yours! (wow that sounded confusing-) 😁 If you want a more in-depth explanation, visit this page!
Sooo… yeah! That’s it for this small update! See y’all sooooon!
Heyo, my beloved blooming readers! 🌼Welcome or welcome back to Simply Selina!

♫ 5 of my current favorite songs ♫
House of Memories by Panic! at the Disco — I’ve been listening to this song non-stop lately… it’s really catchy hehehe 🤣
Zero by Imagine Dragons — Again. So catchy, and the music is nice!
Let Her Go by Passenger — Why I love this song? I. Have. No. Idea. I mean, I suppose I like how the song pairs opposites together, like “Only miss the sun when it starts to snow…” and stuff.
Someone Like You by Adele — I really like the melody of this song, I guess. I actually discovered this song from a book, so-
Infinity by One Direction — I like how there’s the calmness of the beginning, then slowly gets higher, then back down. Sorry. My wording is weird hahah
♫ mah photo collage ♫
This is for House of Memories! I was inspired by Sateja to add some of the lyrics of the song in the collage as well!
♫ answering the questions ♫
Who are your favorite singers? Hmm… right now, it’s currently Alessia Cara, Shawn Mendes, and Ariana Grande!
Who are your favorite bands? Imagine Dragons, and One Direction. 😁
Which part of a song is usually your favorite? (Intro, verse, chorus, pre-chorus, bridge, outro) It depends! I like any part of a song, really.
Who’s an artist you thought you wouldn’t like, but now you do? Most of my favorite songs come at random! There’s no way I know what artist I like, but I find out eventually, haha! 😂
If you could only listen to one singer’s music for the rest of your life, who would you choose and why? Aaaaagggghhhh why ask me these impossible quessssstiooons… I suppose Shawn Mendes? His songs usually have nice guitar beats, so that’s nice.
Which music genre do you listen to the most? Like I said, I listen to random songs, but I think that majority of my playlist is pop songs?
Which music genre do you listen to the least? Umm… I have no idea.
Do you like movie soundtracks? Yas! I love The Greatest Showman soundtrack~
Do you have a favorite composer? … maybe John Williams? Whaaaat? I like the Harry Potter theme song, okay? 🤣
What’s a song you love that’s in a different language than your native language? Dos Oruguitas by Sebastian Yatra!
What are some of your favorite seasonal songs? 🎶noooo iiiiideeeeaaaa🎶
♫ answering the musician questions ♫
What instrument/s do you play? Violin! 🎻
What got you into playing music? I started playing violin in second grade, stopped, and restarted a few years ago. I really enjoy music, and playing an instrument is a great skill!
What do you love about playing an instrument? Learning new pieces, and playing them with the rest of the orchestra!
What’s a song you’re currently learning? Before summer break, our class was learning the Game of Thrones theme song for fun heh 😛
What’s a song you want to play someday, but it might be too hard? A lot. Of. Songs. Maybe one of the Four Seasons by Tchaikovsky? 😅
What are some of the struggles of playing your instrument? It’s pretty hard (at least for me) to find the perfect angle(?) for my bow to make a sound that isn’t really scratchy-sounding, but practice makes progress!
