Book review: Drum Roll, Please

Hiya, dudes and dudettes! As you can clearly see in the title, I will be doing another book review, and so yeah. This’ll be a slightly shorter book review than my other ones. Or not, I dunno.

Drum Roll, Please: Bigelow, Lisa Jenn: 9780062791146: Amazon.com: Books

I read this on Saturday, and thought it was a great book. By the way, the picture above is not mine.

Summary (do you guys call this a blurb?):

Find the confidence to rock out to your own beat. Melly only joined the school band because her best friend, Olivia, begged her to. But to her surprise, quiet Melly loves playing the drums. It’s the only time she doesn’t feel like a mouse. Now, she and Olivia are about to spend the next two weeks at Camp Rockaway, jamming under the stars in the Michigan woods. But this summer brings big changes for Melly: her parents split up, her best friend ditches her, and Melly finds herself falling for a girl at camp named Adeline. To top it off, Melly’s not sure she has what it takes to be a real rock ‘n’ roll drummer. Will she be able to make music from all the noise in her heart?

How I thought of this book:

I like reading about these books that involve camps and stuff, and also books when the main character is a female. (I don’t mean to hurt anyone’s feelings. I also like male main characters too, don’t worry πŸ˜‰)

I feel like Melly is a little bit like me in some ways. A little shy (I bet you guys don’t think I’m shy, but THAT’S CUZ I’M TYPING HEHE), but with a love for music. Needless to say (lol I sound like Grammarly’s ads), I looooved this book. Huh. I just realized this book is related to pride month a little. how did I not think of that?!

My rating:

⭐⭐⭐⭐ *add 3/4 of a star here*

Four and 3/4 stars!

Do I recommend?

I bet you all already know what I’m going to say. GO READ THIS RIGHT NOW OR YOU’LL BE SORRY

no no no just kidding 😜

But I bet y’all will love this book. Just sayin’

That’s it for now! ✌

  1. Oo this book sounds really good! I’ve just looked at the cover a few times and wasn’t sure if I would like it, but it sounds AMAZING from your review and the blurb!
